Bodmin Folk Club is proud to welcome James Findley.
James first came into the public eye after winning the 2010 BBC Young Folk award but across the Westcountry many people have followed his progress from a young boy singing at clubs and festivals, to singing at the graveside of James Hammet at the annual Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival to the accomplished musician and singer and artistic director for stage shows such as Fisherman’s Friends the Musical, Birdsong and Into the Night, the story of the Penlee Lifeboat.
James comes from a family of folk singers and his enthusiasm lies firmly within the English tradition. He is particularly passionate about songs from his home counties of Dorset and Somerset. James has an extensive repertoire and love for song. This really shows in his knowledge and understanding of the material. James accompanies himself with fiddle, guitar, melodeon and banjo.
All in all, this is a night not to be missed.
We meet in an upstairs room but there is a stairlift if required. We do a great line in tea and coffee so byo alcohol.
