Keslowena Steve ha Carmen… Congratulations Steve and Carmen

By | September 4, 2022

Bodmin folk Club would like to say Keslowena, Congratulations, to Steve and Carmen Hunt who have been made Bards of the Gorsedh Kernow. The ceremony, in Cornish, was held at Hayle, in the hall of Hayle Academy, as the weather was too bad to hold it outside.

Steve’s Bardship is for his work on promoting Cornish Folk Music and he was given the bardic name Menstrel Manow , Minstrel from Man, which also reflects his place of birth, the Isle of Man.

Carmen’s Bardship is for her work on Cornish Folk Dance and she was given the bardic name, ‘Donsyer an Werin’ , Folk Dancer.

That brings the total of Bards who come to the club to 5, the others being Garry Tredidga, Moe Keast and Kathy Wallis., with others including Mike O’Connor, Barbara Griggs and Anne Kennedy Truscott as occasional visitors.
